The Arnstein Building
Built in 1905 by Max Arnstein and said to be the first steel frame skyscraper in Knoxville, the Arnstein Building housed one of downtown Knoxville’s finest retail stores.
After the close of the M.B. Arnstein Company in 1934, the new Tennessee Valley Authority leased the building. It’s been home to many businesses since then including Whittle Communications.
Dewhirst Properties renovated the building in 2013 and it is now home to Urban Outfitters, BarberMcMurry Architects, and twenty luxury apartments.
